Idre is a three piece band from Oklahoma City. Their new album ”Unforgiving Landscapes” will be released this May through Wolves And Vibrancy Records. 2 tracks are included in this release. So, before we start talking about this album, just sit back, relax and free your mind from whatever that’s been bothering you. A journey into gloomy landscapes is about to begin. I’ve been there before. The band’s debut album was indeed an excellent one. I, myself wanted to listen to a new album. The wait is over. Their music could be described as sludge meets dark wave meets post rock. Nevertheless ”Unforgiving Landscares” sounds a bit different compared to its predecessor. In my opinion, this time it is not that experimental. I feel that these guys knew what they wanted to achieve and they got it. This time they took a slightly different direction, that’s heavier if you ask me. The result is something that can be described as more than satisfying. As it has already been mentioned Idre’s new album is comprised of two tracks. Each track lasts for about twenty minutes. Let me remind you that it’s not that easy to write such a song. The way i see it, it is a true challenge. Your challenge is to take your message across. It is to make the listener get lost inside a sea of emotions. There is no doubt in my mind that Idre nailed it. These two songs form an album of darkened, enchanting music. As for me, i’m totally down with it, i loved it, i rocked thus i’d like to recommend it. Gentlemen from us it is a nine out of 10.
