Herem – III

Herem is a five piece, band from Finland, formed back in 2005. Their new album ”III” will be released internationally on the 13th of January through Inverse records. I’m a newcomer to this band and i’ve never listened to any of their previous albums. Nevertheless it’s always exciting when you’ re discovering new bands. So let us waste no more time. Let’s just press play and see what we’ ve got here. Five tracks are included in this release. The band’s music is of course heavy as hell. The band launches a sonic offensive with ”Scars to summon” . I have to say i’m definitely down with this track. And yes, my first impression is more than positive. ”Snakes on the third moon” is the album’s second track and this is another awesome track. It’s also a really cool title for a song. Find here immense groove, nice riffs and concrete basslines. ”Drowning Steed” along with ”Scars to summon” are my two favorite tracks from this album. At this point i would like to comment on the band’s vocalist simply because i liked her vocals. We’ re talking about cool death metal growls that make the band’s music sound significantly cold and dark. Moving on we find ”Slumber”. I loved its desert/ heavy space rock intro. Make no mistake though. It’s beyond heavy. Last but not least we find ”Edge of the world”. There’s no doubt in my mind that this is another great track that will leave no doom metal fan unsatisfied. As for me, i sure as hell enjoyed this album. Therefore i would like to recommend it. In my opinion it’s one of this month’s best releases. Ladies and gentlemen, this is our suggestion for today. Here’s a link where you can also listen to ”III”.
