Please introduce your band. When was the band formed?
The project was born from the ashes of previous bands like Dementia Senex and from the passion of hardcore/crust/doom stuff. We hooked up in 2013 but we started doing live shows only in early 2015.
Can you tell us about your main influences?
We are open minded, everything in life or death could be an inspiration but musically we probably descend from black metal, grindcore and hardcore punk.
How would you define your sound?
Maybe it could be described like crushing and gloomy metal/crust or sludge/blackened post hardcore. I don’t know, it’s up to the listeners.
Last September you released ‘’Betrayed from Birth’’ ep. How did the recording sessions go and how has the reception been so far?
It was the first time in studio for this band, so we were really excited and focused on the music. Our producer and ex drummer Gaetano Rizzo was absolutely essential and helpful on this first step. We are really stoked and surprised for the EP’s response; a lot of magazines, bands and people gave us attention from the very start. Not bad for a three-track EP.
Any particular concept behind ‘’Betrayed from Birth’’ you would like to discuss?
Kind of. We thought everyone is not completely agree with the life on the way. Sometimes Life is like a sudden stab in your back, but you are still alive on this planet and you gonna fight to survive the bleed. It’s like a betrayal.
What inspires you the most?
Our fuckin’existence. Reality is more weird than fantasy. We love art in every kind (from Cioran to Beksinski) and we are science, philosophy and psychology addicted as well.
What are you listening to these days?
Nowdays there are a lot of new interesting releases. We really enjoyed the new Oathbreaker’s album and we expect something great from Ulcerate.
Any live shows planned for this year?
On October, 15th we’ll play at GOTR FEST (X edition) in Rimini together with amazing acts like Forgotten Tomb, Dopethrone and Deathrite. At the end of the month we’ll play with Anaal Nathrakh in Bologna, great band that we love; and more shows are planned for winter, mainly in North Italy.
What does the future hold for Lambs?
Something is on the way; currently we are working on new music for our first full length and meanwhile you could enjoy our “7split with german Ill Neglect. Hopefully we’ll hit the road again on 2017, we’d love to tour in East Europe.
