Enter the realm of the underground and be amazed by the stuff you’ ll find there. Cloud Rat is a four piece band from the United States. Their music is a blend of crust/ hardcore punk and grindcore. Well, judging from the album’s front cover i was expecting to listen to some stuff like Therion’s ”Lepaka Kliffoth”. But it proved out that i couldn’t have been more mistaken than that. Apart from post rock/ metal perhaps it would be safe to say that crust is the shit nowadays. And what makes this even better is that so many awesome bands have emerged. Until recently i knew nothing about Cloud Rat. Luckily for me i found out that they have released a new album called ”Qliphoth”. Seventeen tracks are included in this album. In my opinion this album is quite an intriguing case. And that’s because from the very beginning of the album you get to realize that it incorporates all the stuff you like about extreme music. From heavy/ sharp vocals to extremely heavy riffs, nice hardcore parts and of course blastbeats. Oh yes there’s a lot of them. You can even trace some black metal influences. Nicely put together in my opinion. Even some neo-crust melodic parts combine perfectly.  To me this is msic from the soul. Furthermore i would easily name ”Qliphoth” album of the month here in Tzertzelos. I also cannot stop listening to ”Chrysalis”. It’s definitely one of my favorites from ”Qliphoth”. Definitely recommended for fans of Cwill, Fall of Efrafa, His Hero is Gone, Skitsystem, Yacopsae, Sarabante, Ictus e.t.c. Here are some links where you can also listen to ”Qliphoth”:
